Stakeholder is an engaging and immersive board game that combines tile placement, role-playing, and negotiation mechanics to simulate the management and preservation of a fictional national park. In this game, each player takes on the role of a different stakeholder, representing diverse interest groups, and they must collaborate to ensure the park’s sustainability while pursuing the best outcomes for their respective factions.

It is a captivating and thought-provoking board game that challenges players to strike a balance between cooperation and self-interest. It provides an immersive experience where negotiation and strategy are crucial, offering a unique opportunity to appreciate the challenges of managing a national park while highlighting the importance of preserving our natural treasures. Can you and your fellow stakeholders achieve harmony and ensure the park’s long-term prosperity?

Project Aim:

The aim of the project is to design a game which educates players on the difficulties and problems involved with managing a national park, and engage the players in thinking about problems from a perspective they may not traditionally take, i.e. through the eyes of a stakeholder group they would not typically be a part of.

The game is being designed using a limited number of game pieces (square cards, unmarked coloured cubes), in order to keep the total size of the game small and portable, purchase costs affordable, as well as test my ability to create complex and interesting game systems using very limited resources.
